Stillerus, Etosha
Welcome to Stillerus, a combined hunting and cattle farm set in the mountains of the Etosha Conservancy of North-West Namibia covering over 9000 hectares and owned and managed by Evert and Helen Burger.
Stillerus is somewhat different to some of the more established hunting farms that you may have seen as with this location you will be a welcome house-guest within the family home - and as such I can personally verify that Tannie Helen's cooking is absolutely fabulous! I would also like to draw your attention to the family pictures that I have included with this profile as this will tel you more about the true nature of this region than my words ever can!
Firstly, consider that the full-mounted Lion in the living room was shot by Evert's son, Hardus (he is pictured with his trophy) and this takes pride of place as it was his 20th lion shot on his 20th birthday!
Furthermore, I've included a couple of pictures of Evert's daughter Marlien, together with her friend Elna-Marie as they model our new range of 'Bait' tee-shirts. Marlien loves to hunt and while only 19 already has 4 confirmed lion kills to her name, all of which were problem animals shot on this farm - so for those of you looking for dangerous game hunting, or hunting the 'Outcasts' - Stillerus would be a fantastic place to start!
Evert offers a broad range of trophy species on his estate including Kudu, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest, Springbok, Warthog, Duiker, Steenbok, Eland and so on. In addition, Stillerus is delighted to offer 'Outcast' hunting opportunities for the always dangerous spotted Hyena and Jackals - see the 'Outcast's' section for further information.
Meanwhile, as you enjoy some more pictures of Stillerus, just imagine this as your next location for an African adventure and think about what else you may find in the long Savanna grasses, ideal for Cheetah and Lion of course, but theres much more than that available as Stillerus covers a wide variety of habitat and aspect providing for some very varied hunting opportunities.
Here are a few more pictures of the Burger family - and staying with a warm Namibian family as a guest in their home certainly provides the visitor with a much better insight into the lifestyle and experience of the Afrikaans people of Namibia - the stories are well worth listening to over a glass of Brandy too!
As you will have already gathered, Stillerus offers a very friendly environment to come and visit Namibia while staying with a warm, inviting, Namibian family. Great hunting is available over an extended territory and its close proximity to the Etosha National Park means that Stillerus is often at the mercy of 'problem' predators, such as Lion, Leopard and Hyena - an ideal place for Outcast Hunting!
